Anti-Smoking campaign launches in Sahara Mall

Sunday, 31st May 2009 - An anti- smoking campaign exhibition had been launched by the anti-smoking program of the Ministry of Health within the framework of the kingdom’s celebration of the International Day of Anti-Smoking in 2009.

The visitors commended such exhibition for the educating materials presented and displayed at the exhibition, as these materials showed the danger of smoking.  The visitors confirmed that the relevant program had witnessed several developing steps that contributed to giving-up smoking by both men and women at Riyadh Sahara Mall, as the first shopping center forbidding smoking in Riyadh.  The visitors had been fascinated by the modern method of displaying the educating materials which had created the desired interaction with the visitors in addition to answering their questions directly in a scientific way supported by facts on the smoking harms caused to the smokers and the people around them.

A considerable number of visitors decided to give up smoking after seeing such substantial harms and dangers resulting from smoking, especially those who discovered the amount of their carbon dioxide and the extent of damages in their lungs as a result of smoking after being examined at the exhibition.  They were encouraged to make their decision to give up smoking particularly after they become aware that this program had launched its first campaign at Riyadh Sahara Mall.
