The Mall is located at the intersection of King Abdul Aziz Road and Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Road. See the map.

The Mall structure is constructed to the highest international standard by using the worldwide Swede Beam System (SBS) with the precast concrete with no columns in the large areas to
offer larger space for shops and corridors, an advantage provided by the SBS.

The walls and roofs are covered by thermal insulation material to increase the efficiency of the A/C system in the mall.

The Skylights and entrance space-frames are covered with heat-mirror glass which reflects the sunshine and acts as 70% thermal insulator. This also boosts the efficiency of the A/C System.

 

At the entrance of each main gate a guiding system is installed. It is computer system that shows the customer the items to be shopped and the names and locations of the shops that sell such items. It further identifies all available services such as W.C., Mosque, Playground, etc.

 

The Mall is provided with lightning protective system made of pure gold ball placed on the roof of the Mall and connected with cables containing insulating metal layers to absorb the lightning and discharge it to the ground without any side leakage. It is the second system of this type installed in the kingdom.

 

The Mall is equipped with nine power sub-stations of 1000 K.V.A each erected to the highest international standards to meet the electrical requirements of the Mall. Each shop is provided with a panel board to enable the tenant to have distribution of power.

 

The Mall water network is connected with the Riyadh public water works for a water supply of 400 m3 reservoir capacity that is large enough to supply the mall with water. The irrigation system is designed on cost-effectiveness basis, as the gardens and planters are provided with automatic water supply system. The Mall is also connected with the Public Sewage System, and oil traps are installed for restaurants.

 

The Mall is provided with a central A/C system of a 2600-ton capacity. The A/C units are made by Carrier International Co. The A/C system is controlled by sophisticated electronic remote system known as "Carrier V.V.T. System" which is connected by a telephone line to Carrier Co. premises to respond immediately in emergency cases. This is considered the biggest system ever installed in the Middle East.  An advanced C.C.R. system is also installed to permit electronic interface and harmonious functioning of all A/C units. Each A/C unit is controlled 24 hours a day by Carrier Service Link operating in Riyadh.

All the Mall facilities and services are electronically controlled by the building Management System that provides a timely on/off function to any component of the existing facilities and services.

 

An elaborate telephone network is installed to offer the required direct telephone lines to each shop. An outdoors optic fiber cable is connected to the main PABX.

 

The Mall is provided with a Public Address System in addition to a Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) that comprises tilt cameras working all-day and covering all indoor and outdoor areas. The CCTV System sends warning signals to the control room whenever anything happens in any shop.

 

The Control Room is situated within the area of the Management Offices in the mezzanine floor. This room contains monitors, computers and audio-control systems. The control room is operating 24 hours a day to monitor all indoor and outdoor activities and traffics.

 

The Mall is provided with a modern fire alarm and fighting system including an automatic water sprinkling system to cover the entire Mall area and the underground parking places. Such network is fed by 400 m3 capacity water reservoir and electric pumps in addition to a standby diesel pump that is turned on in case of electric current failure.

There are also five hose reel cabinets including manually operated fire extinguishers all over the Mall. The fire alarm system works automatically in case of fire to give early warning to the persons to evacuate the Mall in emergency case.
